¿Donde Estan Mis Donations?

Help DondeEstaMiGente Out!!!

By donating to our campaign to do more Donde Esta Mi Gente Show!! Most of our shows are funded by our head organizer, Baruch Porras Hernandez. Often artist fees, photographer fees, designer fees come our of his wallet. Which is fine, he wants to support his community, sometimes our shows are funded by KQED, sometimes by SF AIDS Foundation, but we are only able to do 1 or 2 shows a year.

Imagine a world where we can do MORE DEMG SHOWS!!? We want to live in the world. Feb 13th we launched a fundraiser to make 2000 dollars so we could do more shows, we’ve raised $1100!!!!!

Now we need your help to raise the other 900 bucks, help us out with 5 or 10 bucks, tell a friend about fund raiser and what we do. With your help we can keep doing Latinx focused poetry shows in a city where the Latino population is disappearing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE and more love to you all!

A Message From Baruch

Baruch Head organizer of DondeEsta Mi Gente

For my birthday month I would LOVE it if you donated 5 to 10, or 100 bucks to help us do more ¿DondeEstaMiGente? shows!! DEMG brings Latinx writers, comedians, and musicians together and pays them to perform in amazing shows that are almost always free to the community! I usually pay the photographers, the artists, the designers and all other expenses out my own pocket, which means less shows. With your donations we could do more shows all year round!! Give Today! And if you can’t, no worries, no pressure, all love. DONATE TODAY!!

huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugs!!!

FBFE6332.jpg

The Crew on top of the World in the Heart of the Castro!

The show was like a little Dream! We gathered some of the BEST Latinx comedians from all over the Bay Area and had them do comedy with us at our very first all Latino Comedy Show! We decided to call it ¿DondeEstaMiComedy? and I think we like it, we’ll keep it. The Show was at Strut! We are so grateful to Strut for letting us do the show there. A ton of folks came, the audience was great, all the comics killed! The Comics featured were all Latinx in our DONDEESTAMIGENTE tradition.

We featured Kay Nilsson, who is new to comedy, this was his first comedy show with all comics, and all Latinos. Veronica Porras who was so funny! Molly Sanchez who had a really great set and told us a loving story about a pepperoni. Jennifer Dronsky who was the first comic we ever featured at DondeEstaMiGente, she KILLED! Then we had a very very special appearance from The Grace Towers, she was incredible, the crowd loved her. Then we had a set from Jesus U. BettaWork, he was soo good and then did a dance! Then we he had our headliner Eloisa Bravo from Cheaper Than Comedy, we could not have asked for a better closer, and close she did, the audience was over the moon.

All pictures were taken by the very very sexy Fabian Echevarria,!!

CHECK OUT THE PICTURES FROM OUR AMAZING SHOW BELOW and stay tuned for the next Donde Esta Mi Gente?!

Hello everyone, Baruch here, Yesterday I was truly moved and overjoyed by the artists at the ¿Donde Esta Mi Gente? reading at Beast Crawl. I have not had that many audience members thank me as they left a show in a long time. There was like, a line of people, that was pretty neat. The show went so well, three people came up to me after and told me they wanted to be donors to the performance series. I want to thank Zulfi FaludaRené Vaz Eloisa BravoAmanda Muniz, and Javier Zamora for being incredibly flexible, true professionals, and for their top notch performances, thank you guys, you are what makes DEMG great, and make me happy DEMG exists. The venue was small, it was super hot, but the audience were troopers, and sat in that heat to hear the poetry and comedy. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that came to the show. OUR NEXT DONDE ESTA MI GENTE IS I OCTOBER!!
